Our Thanks to Quilters, Sewers, and Crafters:

14 Mar 2011

Deciding to launch a new product was a major decision, deciding to launch that product during tough economic times was a major decision with an added risk. However, the potential to bring a new product to market that could solve many everyday challenges was an incredible opportunity so we carefully analyzed out target markets, our price point, our goals, the potential demand for the product and started to build a team of talented individuals that could turn that opportunity into a reality.

Less than a year later we are well on our way to success; Lapel Stick has hit the ground running in Canada and the United States, we are growing every day and the future looks amazing! We would not be where we are today without the incredible support of our first market: the quilting, sewing and crafting communities. We are so grateful to all of the Bloggers who have reviewed Lapel Stick and shared their articles online, to the distributors that carry our product to new resellers, to the retail stores that are now carrying our product, and to the individual consumers that have purchased the product and shared their excitement with us.

To express our thanks we wanted to give back and share our success. In addition to the 30 cents we donate to the JDRF from our proceeds of each stick sold, a number of truly remarkable charities were recommended to us by Quilters and Sewers across North America – we are very honoured to now be supporting the following charities:

Quilts of Valour Canada http://www.quiltsofvalour.ca
Quilts from Caring Hands http://www.quiltsfromcaringhands.com
Every Child Counts http://www.everychild.biz
American Hero Quilts http://www.americanheroquilts.com
Quilts of Valor (southern Indiana) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Quilts-of-Valor-Southern-Indiana/169254649779923

Each of these charities are doing amazing work, the people that create the beautiful quilts and crafts are all volunteers who are making a difference in the lives of people who greatly deserve them. It is our privilege to be able donate product and a portion of our proceeds to help them in their work.

As we move forward we will continue to provide help to all of these groups and hope to be able to help many others. The greatest gift our success has brought us is the ability to share it with the incredible people working every day to make the world a better place.

Gratefully,
The Lapel Stick Team

Lapel Stick is a new acid-free and non-toxic temporary fabric adhesive that eliminates the need for baste stitching, taping, spraying, and pinning. It is water-soluble, won’t gum up needles or machines and is safe to use on cottons, wool, leather, felts, polyester, blends, linen, felt, nylons, and silks. It also solves the everyday challenges and frustrations of fallen pant or skirt hems, unruly collars and cuffs, gaping or lost buttons, and slipping shoulder straps.
